Hidilyn Diaz could not hold back the tears as the Philippine National Anthem was played in Bogota, Colombia, after she successfully bagged three gold medals at the World Championships, a video posted by SMNI showed.
The Olympian, who was also the one who gave the Philippines its first Olympic gold, beat Colombia and Mexico in different types of weightlifting.
Hidilyn achieved a total lift of 207kg, putting her ahead of Rosalba Morales and Ana Gabriela Lopez.
The 31-year-old champion have previously joined the world championships but got a bronze in 2015 and 2017.
In 2019, as per Inquirer, she still got another bronze.
Her recent win at the world championships is definitely a feather in her cap.
Hidilyn Diaz is a Filipina weightlifter. She is also an airwoman. Hidilyn made history when she bagged the Philippines’ first-ever Olympic gold medal after winning the women's weightlifting 55 kg at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
