There are nearly 443,000 children in foster care in the U.S., and these kids remain in state care on average for two years. Statistics show that the average age of kids entering state care is 8, and it was confirmed by Together We Rise that 1,200 kids enter foster care across the U.S. every day.
The non-profit organization has decided to bring together volunteers to help these children, and it also encourages families to adopt a kid.
TWR pays a big effort to help these children go through the process until their adoption. It was founded by Danny Mendoza in 2008, and it all started when he found out that his 9-year-old cousin lives in a car. Danny was under the age of 21 at the time, so he couldn’t do much about the kid himself.
However, even though he couldn’t help the boy himself, he really had to do something to help him and kids like him. He spread the vision, and he was advised by his friends and colleagues to start off an organization. His idea quickly became reality, and Together We Rise helps thousands of children now.
The organization posted photos of kids adopted by families a few years ago, and the smiles on their faces truly say it all!
More than 5,000 professional photographers signed up on day one to donate services to adopters, and this is a story that restores our faith in humanity. We hope that every kid in this world finds happiness with a new family, and every kid deserves a warm home and love.
